VERSATILITY

           The word versatility describes of having many different skills or qualities. Versatility allows you to adapt to many different situations (Dictionary : Versatility, 2011) . The noun versatility derives from the Latin word versatilis, meaning "turning, revolving, moving, capable of turning to varied subjects or tasks. Here, Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar Al Bukhary are of one them having a versatility attitude. He manage to do everything in his business and get it develop with his own until getting successful . In other word, he is a capable man.

                Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar AlBukhary is a versatile in various areas of entrepreneurship in Malaysia. He has became the seventh richest individuals in Malaysia and 32nd richest in southeast Asia with assets of 167 billion. He holds the philosophy that "education does not guarantee success, but hard work”. His family originated from Yamen before move and stay at Kedah. He was the third child of seven siblings and educated only unti form 5 at high school and was born in 1951 (Mohanlail, 2012).

 At first he helped his mother to plant and sell vegetables at the market and sell the bread rolled. After graduating, Syed Mokhtar helped his father to trade cattle but the business has gone bankrupted because of the animal infected the disease. Then,he took the beef to be sold to traders indigenous and restaurants around Alor Setar. Due being successful in business selling beef, his confidence increased and then he try the transportation business (1972). 

Impressed, he managed to get a permit for four lorries class A. After that he joint ventured into the business of rice and establish Shah company (1975). It brings him to won several contracts to supply rice. To develop this rice business, he formed a joint venture with two Chinese businessmen. Having another oppoturnity, he tried other commodities which is sugar companies that are still ongoing to this day by Bukhari Sdn Bhd. He then ventured into the manufacturing sector because he managed to get a contract making military uniforms for the defense ministry (Mohanlail, 2012).

Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar AlBukhary also build two company in producing the clothes and shoes  which is Amtek Holdings for the production of shoes and Oriental Garments Uniform Division for the production of clothing (Rahsia Kejayaan Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar AlBukhary, 2013). In the early 90s, he was interesting in management and development of the port. That cause him made the Johor port Tanjung Pelepas became famous and get 90% on the Seaport Terminal Sdn Bhd Johor (1993). He is also the owner of the company Gulf International Investment Group capital (GIIG) who have an interest in Elektric Bakun Hydro Project.

He has interests in several major firms and one of the member of the board of directors of the Company Bina Puri Holdings Berhad . He gain many success  in whatever field he is involved in. It prove that he is a versatility man whos never give up and also  be humility even though he at the top level for example he build Albukhary International University and give sponsorhip to all asean student especially Malaysian students (Mohanlail, 2012).

INITIATIVE

Persons with high initiative takes action that goes beyond job requirement or demand of the situation. They do thing before being asked or forced to do things and acts to extend the business into new areas products or services. This results in the tendency to work one’s ideas and decide on the line of action appropriate for them to take. Dato’ Haji Ramly bin Mokni is having initiative traits to improve his business.

               RAMLY FOOD PROCESSING SDN BHD is one of the famous Bumiputera industries in the manufacturing of food products based on beef, poultry and seafood products branded ‘RAMLY’. Founded in 1984 and owned until now by Dato’ Haji Ramly Bin Mokni`s and Datin Hajjah Shala Siah Bt Abdul Manap of ideas and wishes for halal products , clean and high quality . Now the company has its own processing plant in SMI Industrial Park, Mukim Batu, Kuala Lumpur. 

               RAMLY branded products are now so dominant in the Malaysian market and in the international arena. Among the products RAMLY FOOD PROCESSING SDN BHD, produce are burger, frankfurter, cocktails, nuggets, chicken, seafood and ground beef (Nasir, 2014). This iniative has bring him to offering job opportunities from management, production through to marketing the product (Hanis, 2014).

               Local food producers, set aside is committed to improving its service quality products to meet unexpected demand received since the boycott of products or brands associated with Israel implemented. Its managing director, Datuk Ramly Mokni`s said, the opportunity and the chance was build when people started turning to local halal products will had also be fully utilized to attract more customers. "We were surprised and did not expect to receive run off from activities boycotting Israeli products in this when we are inundated with stalls customers who complained that there cannot be a product that they want. 

               Due to that issues, Dato’ Ramly had increase its efforts to ensure a positive impact being feel by the customer. Hence, it will be an enjoyed and simple as Dato’Ramly planned to increased supply for food products that are ready to be cooked (Rahim, 2014).

               As an initiative to improve its business and provide goods to consumers, Dato Ramly had lauch again in joint venture of the cooking program ‘Enaknya Ramly’ from Chef Liza. (Rahim, 2014). The design concept of cuisine tourism and entertainment info is featuring Chef Liza Zainol homeland with famous celebrities who share special recipes using the company's products aside while venturing to places of interest in Melaka. Ramly tell, other than machinery intensify the campaign to introduce products frozen foods produced by his company, his company is currently seeking to expand its business wings to the entire country.

The company built by Dato’ Ramly are also providing the platform for Bumiputera entrepreneurs to explore opportunities in food business. Now, its having more than 450 premises under Ramly Halal Mart Sdn Bhd and Halal Ramly Kiosk Sdn Bhd. The latest platform shows when a new kiosk open in RnR Gurun this year. By doing this, he actually provide training, support and complete equipment capital to entrepreneurs who are interested in participating. These efforts are also among the company's initiative to develop the indigenous group (Rahim, 2014).

               Through all of the strategy of Dato’ Ramly has made, he was actually applied his initiative traits. From all these, he had helped people to get job and helped others choosing halal product easily.

TRAITS 1 : INTEGRITY & RELIABILITY

            Integrity is what one believes to be true and correct. There is some value in the integrity, such as honesty, trust and fairness. Dewan Bahasa Dan Pustaka dictionaries council in 1985 also said integrity means honesty, sincerity, excellence and perfect. These values are very important in entrepreneurs. With the properties of an entrepreneur, this will make consumers trust and believe in them and faithful to their products.

Integrity and reliability of this nature can be seen by a well-known entrepreneur in his shoe design, namely Dato Jimmy Choo.

 Dato Jimmy Choo is not only a shoe designer, but he also has the skills and expertise in producing art. He also gained inspiration and design inspiration from nature such as trees, flowers and also of environmental conditions such as interior decoration in the places he visited. He is also a very careful and always ensure that he designed shoes safe and comfortable for the customer use  (Jimmy Choo ).

             He also endured within four years of the distress due to declining sales of its shoes. After four years of hard work, finally got his designs coverage in Vogue Magazine, a famous fashion magazine in the United kingdom. However, sales still declined even though he still gets media coverage of its sales.

             After several years, the design Dato Jimmy Choo was acquired by the late Princess Diana relevant to his design. Since then, Princess Diana fell in love with his shoes designs which led to his steady increase in the international arena.

            As we can see today, the brand Jimmy Choo into a frenzy of artists and celebrities around the world. His clients included Natalie Imbruglia and Katie Holmes. Jimmy Choo shoes also appeared in the popular films like The Devils Wear Prada  (Jimmy Choo Biography).

From what is done by Jimmy Choo above in improving his design brands, we can see where he has the integrity and high reliability. We can also see his design gets high trust from all over the world. We also can see Dato Jimmy Choo trust himself that he can make his sales increase and like by the customers around the world.

As from his integrity and reliability values, he had been achieved with lots of award. As the example, in 2000, he had been bestowed a state award carrying the title of Dato' by the Sultan of Pahang state in Malaysia for his achievement . Besides, he also been chosen to be Awarded an honorary doctorate in art by De Montfort University, Leicester, UK, for his contribution to their unique Single Honours Footwear Design degree in 2004  (Jimmy Choo likely to join FTSE 250 Index, 2014).

INTRODUCTION

Entrepreneurship is generally defined as a person who operates a business or company so successful with for-profit and practice of strategic practices to succeed. A very broad concept of entrepreneurship is expressed in detail which involves a variety of figures confirming the concept of entrepreneurship itself based on their understanding. Entrepreneurs usually associated with an innovator, pioneer and creator of wealth. This is due to the characteristics of entrepreneurs have no or not seen by others as an advantage. An entrepreneur is always moving forward to find ideas and new opportunities that have not existed yet in the community. Every entrepreneur who wants to succeed should have the characteristics of an entrepreneur's character as well as through other processes as no entrepreneur who was born in itself. Entrepreneurs should be formed by several branches of the interest, appropriate education and training. Features as an entrepreneur must have because this will represent to the direction of the field explored for example, optimism, enthusiasm, faith in oneself and others. Entrepreneurship is crucial to a country as a catalyst and economic change. The role of entrepreneurship in economic development is not only of per capita income countries and even in the change of business structure and society. This is due to the creation of new products through innovation and creativity. People are able to produce quality products and value added to be marketed in the country and abroad. Entrepreneurship through innovation can create new investments in the business world, which provide employment opportunities to people at once can reduce the unemployment rate in a country. Through the successes that have been celebrated by many luminaries entrepreneurs have proved that the attitude of the country, its efforts and actions will determine the outcome in a particular field of endeavor.

The Purpose

By the way, this blog are one of our group assignment this semester.

To complete the second task of this course, we have to create and publish our written assignment into this blog.
